Get Rid Of Car Oil & Batteries, White Goods & More

Recycling In The Greater Geelong Area

Recently I changed the oil in my car and was left with 4 litres of dirty sump oil. I didn’t really feel like throwing it in the red bin, in fact it gave me the guilts. I found out that Geelong Waste Recovery Centre in North Geelong and the one in Drysdale accept used car oil and filters at no charge.
The previous week my car battery died. I found out this would be accepted at no charge as well.

Almost on the same day my washing machine packed it in so now I had to dump that along with packaging from the new washing machine. Amazingly I could take these items to the Geelong Waste Recovery Centre free of charge as well.

Before you think about hiring a skip bin and filling it with your rubbish make sure it can’t be recycled.

Here’s a list of items that the Recovery Centres will accept

• Aluminium and steel cans
• Car batteries
